Gentle Care: Showering Guidelines for the First Seven Days Post-Procedure

Schedule Consultation

Ensuring proper hygiene is vital during the initial seven days following your procedure. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to shower safely and maintain the integrity of the treated areas.

  • Showering Instructions: For the first seven days, focus on showering from your eyebrows down, including the donor areas where follicles have been extracted.
  • Normal Showering: Shower as you normally would, and you can apply any amount of pressure to the donor areas without concern.
  • Avoid Pressure on Grafted Areas: Be cautious not to apply pressure on the top of your head and the areas where grafts have been placed. These areas require special care during the initial recovery phase.

Post-Procedure Showering Process:

  • Next Morning: Begin showering the morning after your procedure. Use a cup, any cup available, and apply a small amount of shampoo from your post-operative kit into it.
  • Shampoo Application: Pour water into the cup with shampoo and let it mix. Then, gently pour the entire cup over your head.
  • Repeat as Necessary: You can repeat this process multiple times until all the soap in the cup disappears. Feel free to repeat it 5, 10, 15, or 20 times as needed.

Precautions:

  • Avoid Direct Shower Pressure on Top of the Head: Ensure that the direct water pressure from the shower head does not come in contact with the top of your head during the first seven days.
  • Safe Washing of Donor Areas: Washing the areas at the back of your head and the sides where grafts were taken is perfectly safe. However, refrain from applying firm pressure to the top of your head during this initial period.

Maintaining these guidelines during the first seven days is crucial for the success of your procedure. Remember, it’s safe to wash the donor areas, but gentle care is essential for the grafted areas.

Thank you for following these instructions diligently. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to reach out. Wishing you a restful night and a smooth recovery.
